Chantraine Dance Beginners' Workshop - Hackney
About this Event
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as dancers with experience in other styles who are new to Chantraine.
Created in France in 1958 by Françoise and Alain Chantraine the Chantraine School of Dance offers a holistic approach to dance: the Dance of Expression. It includes elements from contemporary, ballet, jazz and folk styles, as well as principles of yoga and Pilates. It unites the artistic, education and human dimensions of dance to support dancers of all abilities to understand and develop themselves in all aspects of movement.
Location
The workshop will take place in the Research Studio at Chisenhale Dance Space, Hackney.
Please note the studio is only accessible via a flight of stairs.
Timings
You can arrive any time from 10:45, please make sure you are at the venue by 11am.
What to wear
Any clothes that are comfortable to move in for example leggings, joggers, leotards, catsuit, or other dancewear / activewear.
We dance barefoot but grippy socks can be worn if the weather is cool.
There will be a short period of time lying on the floor.
