Winterruption YEG is excited to partner with equity electronic organizations, Change the Beat and Vibe Collective for an evening of female DJs and dance floor shaking on Saturday Jan 24 at 9910.Change the Beat is a Non-Profit organization dedicated to empowering electronic music artists, producers, and DJs by providing access to education, mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities, with a focus on women and underrepresented voices. Founded by DJ Sydney Blu, the initiative fosters a supportive community of thriving and innovative artists who are making their mark on the global music industry. Through its efforts, Change the Beat aims to elevate underrepresented voices by providing access to production tools, creative mentorship, and career-building opportunities. With beginnings in Toronto, Canada, performing at The Guvernment, Footwork Nightclub, and within the LGBTQ2S+ community, Sydney Blu now tours the globe, living life through music. In 2009, she founded her imprint Blu Music, built on a foundation of dancefloor-rich house and techno. The following year, she expanded the brand by launching the legendary Blu Party.
Joining Sydney Blue are YELRIHS, Nat Nolan and Rya of Vibe Collective. Vibe are a women-led DJ agency based in Edmonton, Alberta, connecting diverse talent - including women, woc, and non-binary artists with clients seeking top-tier, personalized music experiences. Their curated roster spans a range of musical styles, while our mentorship and development programs support artist growth and success across creative, community, corporate and professional spaces.
