Champion the Cure Challenge Paddle

Taking part in the 2026 Champion the Cure Challenge includes an opportunity for water-lovers to paddle the Penobscot River in a kayak or canoe. The Paddle Challenge helps us surround friends and family in active treatment, celebrate survivors, remember the loved ones we have lost, and bring hope to our community.
Teams may reserve a large war canoe to use during this event or bring your own canoe or kayak.
Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Champion the Cure Challenge is the only large local cancer fundraiser which keeps 100% of all funds raised right here in our community. Each year since 2010, thousands of people in our community come together with a shared purpose: to support loved ones facing cancer.
