About this Event

Here on the island, we are fortunate to enjoy designated dark sky areas — free from light pollution — where the beauty and intensity of the night sky truly shine. On a clear night in Ventnor, the views of the starry heavens are breathtaking. Have you ever gazed up and wondered about the stars and constellations above?

Join us for a special evening with renowned round-the-world sailor and celestial navigation teacher, Stokey Woodall.

Our evening begins at Ventnor Arts Club with a welcome glass of sparkling wine and an introduction from Stokey, who will deliver an engaging illustrated talk exploring our solar system. Afterwards, Stokey will lead us on a guided starlight walk to observe the night sky firsthand. Upon returning to the club, drinks will be served, followed by an informal Q&A session with Stokey.

Please wear warm, suitable clothing and sturdy footwear for the outdoor walk.

Note: In the event of unsuitable weather, we will explore the night sky indoors using a specialised interactive astronomical programme.
