St. John's Park Slope | Brooklyn, NY
Celebrate spring with Concerts on the Slope’s “Migrations,” an engaging program that bridges contemporary voices and a Romantic master. Brooklyn-based Argentine composer Carlos Pavan makes his debut with the world premiere of Divertimento—a lively, Stravinsky-inspired work featuring the unusual and delightful combination of string quartet, guitar, and flute. Returning as Composer-in-Residence, Clarice Assad offers her evocative Four Scenes, showcasing her signature blend of lyricism and rhythmic vitality. The program concludes with Felix Mendelssohn’s sparkling and lyrical String Quartet No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 44 No. 3, part of our season-long exploration of his chamber music. Join us for an afternoon of discovery, energy, and beauty—and stay afterward to meet the musicians. St. John’s Park Slope, 139 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn. Subway: Q. Bus: B41, B67, & B69.
