The program will feature major collaborations, starting with Ségun Òwèlè, a versatile performer who holds a degree in Voice from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. After earning his Master of Music in Flute from NIU in 2025, Mr. Òwèlè is currently pursuing a Performer’s Certificate in Flute under the tutelage of Dr. Scott Metlicka.
We are also delighted to perform with fellow NIU Alumna, Victoria Young. Ms. Young received her Master of Music degree from NIU, studying under Dr. Koehler. She is currently a pianist and organist at Westminster, as well as the director of their praise band, and performs regularly in the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Schedule of Events
Morning Service: Victoria Young will perform Mozart's Flute & Piano Concerto K. 285 with our flautist, Lynn Vogl.
Evening Concert (3:00 PM): * Following a duet with Ms. Young, Ségun Òwèlè will join Thefive for a sacred setting of Vivaldi’s Domine Deus from the Gloria to conclude the first half of the program.
The concert will also feature Persichetti's Pastorale and Nielsen's Wind Quintet, Op. 43.
