Special Chamber Concert:Thefive of Thesix at NIU
Thefive of Thesix Chamber Ensemble, Inc. invites you to a special chamber concert as we return to our roots at Northern Illinois University.
The program will feature major collaborations, starting with Masters of Music candidate Segun Owele, a graduate vocalist who will join the group for a performance of Vivaldi's Domine Deus from the Gloria.
We are also delighted to perform with fellow NIU Alumna, Victoria Young. Ms. Young received her Master of Music degree from NIU, studying under Dr. Koehler. She is currently a pianist and organist at Westminster, as well as the director of their praise band, and performs regularly in the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Young's performances include:
Evening Concert: Joining the ensemble for Mozart's Quintet in E-flat Major for piano and winds, K. 452, and performing a solo of Debussy's Clair de lune.
Morning Service: She will perform Mozart's Flute & Piano Concerto K. 285 with our flautist, Lynn Vogl.
The concert will also feature Persichetti's Pastorale and Nielsen's Wind Quintet, Op. 43. We hope you will join us for this diverse and engaging program!
The evening concert will have a freewill donation at the door.
