Chalkmont is kicking off Longmont Art Week at Rhythm at Roosevelt.
Celebrate 30 years of Rhythm at this year’s Rhythm at Roosevelt! Join us Saturday, September 6 for the final Rhythm festival with a full day of free music, art, food, and fun in Roosevelt Park. This special anniversary edition honors three decades of community, creativity, and unforgettable performances in the heart of Longmont.

VOTING FOR PEOPLE’S CHOICE CLOSES: 8PM
SET UP: 12PM-2PM
During CHALKMONT AT RHYTHM, 10 adult (4’x4′ square) and 10 youth (3′ x 3′ square) community artists will join together to create chalk art throughout 4th Avenue. These artists will turn concrete into a vivid canvas of colorful chalk art.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE : Creating these amazing works of art requires more than just scribbling on the sidewalk. First, the artist must draw an outline of the original painting in proper proportion using pencil or a charcoal pastel. Then they begin to lay the base of colors. Using a number of colored pastels, the artist layers the chalk, blending the colors to create shadow, contrast and depth. The art may not last long, but that’s sort of the point.
Feeling inspired? There will be DIY art stations on the Street for artists of all ages to give Chalk art a try!
HOW TO VOTE? Visit the Firehouse Artist Booth and donate $1 or more for a voting token. Tokens will be counted after 8pm and the People will crown one adult and one youth artist as the winner! Winners get a $100 LDDA gift card.
