This is the most colorful part of our ArtOberfest celebration and is open to both TEEN and ADULT artists!To participate in CHALK THE BLOCK, you need to reserve your space. Complete the online registration form!
The first 20 artists to register will get their name on a 48 color set of chalk pastels to use when they check in on October 11!
Your “canvas” will be roughly 6’X6’ on the sidewalk along Market St. between 8th and 9th streets. We provide the chalk, you provide your other supplies (stool, water, rags, brushes, tape measures, etc).
You can start your work as early as 1 p.m. on October 11, but all work should be finished by 5 p.m. that evening.
ArtOberfest attendees will be encouraged to walk the Chalk the Block and vote for the chalk art pieces that speak to them.
People’s Choice Awards will be offered in adult and teen categories. There will be first and second place in each with prize packages, gift cards and cash awards!
Prize packages will be awarded on October 15.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move Chalk the Block to another date.
