Join us for Chalice Hart's annual Yule celebration, our honoring of the Dark of Winter on this longest night, as we welcome the Return of the Light. This year we invite you to be grim…. or, more correctly, The Brothers Grimm.
During our traditional Solstice pageant, we will present a story about Frau Holle with a lesson about what it really takes for a village to survive and thrive.
**And our traditional BOOK EXCHANGE – See below for details **
ALLISON & WILLIAM – PRIESTESS & PRIEST - YULE 2025
🛈 INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO THIS SABBAT- DOs & DON'Ts
-We know it's long, AND all of it is necessary; there are many wonderful things happening this night.
- SET UP - 12:00 p.m. - There will be tables to move & set-up, some decorating; we'd appreciate help. We also need help taking down & cleaning up. Consider staying after ritual to make it fast for all.
- GENERAL ARRIVAL - 4:30 PM
- RITUAL BEGINS - 5:30 PM
- POTLUCK DINNER - During the Ritual
**There will be a book-gift exchange with delivery by a special someone…. We don’t know how yet. Could be a wizard, could be a jester, could be Godzilla for all we know. We ask everyone to bring a wrapped book labelled only as to the appropriate reader level (Teen, Adult, etc). It need not be new…. In fact we encourage the exchange of good condition used books. Consider your audience/community in your selection. Contact us is you have questions. **
As always, of course, you may still exchange special personal gifts between friends, if you so wish.
DO GET DRESSED UP if you wish & can. Theme this year is a medieval village so think furs, leather, and homespuns, cloaks, early Medieval simple shifts / dresses / tunics, pants, boots
But don't fret about it. Be as COMFORTABLE as you wish to be.
If you can contribute to potluck, bring it READY TO SERVE, precut & portioned if necessary. If it is a cake/pie, cut into SMALL serving portions. If a roasted chicken, cut it into pieces, etc. Crockpots / Instant Pots are great for keeping items warm
DO BRING a dish to share with AT LEAST 10-12 people. This is most important to help create the Great Feast. If you are bringing a large group, some extras would be appreciated
DO BRING a hearty main or side dish. We usually have way too many desserts, & not enough veggies & meats. One roast of some kind will be provided by CH
DO NOT BRING BREAD ROLLS, Chalice Hart is providing rolls & breads, as well as a non-alcoholic bubbly
LABEL the food that you bring WITH CLEARLY WRITTEN TAGS, LISTING ★ALL★ INGREDIENTS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE QUANTITY, OR bring original label of purchased / prepared foods
DO BRING special drinks you may want for your family or to share (wine, beer, special juices).
DO BRING everything that you will need to keep you and yours happy & comfortable. Also very important: don't come to ritual without adequate self-preparation! This means being adequately nourished, medical needs addressed, & be rested
SUGGESTED DONATION is $5 per person. This money helps us to pay for the supplies throughout the year, & for the halls during the Dark of the Wheel
Bring a few extra dollars for the raffle, would you? As usual, each ticket is $1, or 6 tickets for $5
