We welcome you to join us as we celebrate the first harvest and Lughnasadh. We gather to honor the Celtic god Lugh, known as The Shining One, The Long Arm, and Master of All Arts.
On August 1st, the Sun sits in the heart of Leo, its home sign. This represents the peak of solar vitality, creative fire, and personal radiance. In this energy, we honor Lugh and celebrate the sun's golden warmth that has successfully ripened the grain for our sustenance and survival. This is a time to celebrate individual craftsmanship, artistry, and skill, and share those achievements in community, for no single person can harvest the village's grain alone. Together we are stronger!
In His honor, we will ask you to step forward to claim your own inner sunlight, proclaiming a personal victory, a creative project finished, or an area where you have stepped into your authentic power over the past year. Then together we will bless and bake the bread of our harvest, to share in ritual community.
To celebrate our abundance, we ask that you bring items to share that represent your "harvest" this year, that are a product of your achievement and skill. These can be items literally harvested from the garden, or created through your skill in any other way. Any unclaimed items at the end of the day will be donated to local charity organizations, as appropriate. Please do not bring large items that may be difficult for others to transport.
Please Bring:
* Suggested donation is $5 per person. This money helps us to pay for all the supplies and for the halls during the colder months.
As usual, with a $5 donation you get a raffle ticket for our themed raffle prize. Additional tickets available for $1 each, or 6 for $5.
While we have a suggested donation, we appreciate any offering, and NO-ONE will ever be turned away for not having a donation.
*Your own reusable dishes and flatware for your use. Help us stay green and reduce our garbage footprint.
* Potluck food and drink to share for the feast. PLEASE ENSURE YOUR FOOD IS READY TO EAT, as we are outdoors & there is no facility to do prep.
* Anything that you will need to keep you and yours happy and comfortable (e.g., blankets, pillows, camp chairs, toys for kids, bug-spray/lotion, sunscreen, and layers of clothes)
* Life jackets for children under 5 years. The pond is deep, cold, and murky. We have a few if you forget.
* Carpooling is highly recommended due to limited parking at the ritual field. We have reserved spaces for mobility concerns, otherwise, if the ritual field parking is full, parking is available further up the drive by the house and barn.
