Chairmen of the Board have been entertaining soul music fans for over 30 years. Formed in Detroit, they were one of the first groups signed to Holland-Dozier-Holland’s Invictus label, quickly rising to fame with their 1970 classic “Give Me Just a Little More Time” and hits like “Dangling on a String,” “Pay to the Piper,” and “Everything’s Tuesday.”
Led for decades by the legendary General Johnson, the group continued to record and tour internationally, earning renewed success with songs like “Bless Your Heart” and the 2015 UK Soul Chart Top 5 single “Reach Out 2 Me.” After Johnson’s passing in 2010, longtime member Ken Knox carried on the group’s legacy alongside Thomas Hunter, Patrick McGuire, and a six-piece band.
Their music has been featured in major campaigns, including a Swiffer commercial, and they’ve been spotlighted by the NFL Carolina Panthers. Chairmen of the Board is proudly inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
