Chair based Yoga at Hoylake Parade Community Centre

Chair based yoga is ideal for anyone who would like to attend a gentle chair based exercise class, but prefers not to get onto the floor, has mobility problems, is convalescing or just wants to take it easy.
Most of the exercises will be seated in the chair, with movements to strengthen the body and improve co-ordination and flexibility. A few optional standing movements may be incorporated into the class to improve balance. Classes will also include breathing exercises to improve stamina, and assist in relaxation. The class will culminate in a seated relaxation.
Our theme for this course is Better Breath, with a focus on optimising our breathing to support health and wellbeing.
Kate has been teaching chair based yoga since 2017, and has trained in Gentle Years Yoga with the British Wheel of Yoga.
Classes are held in The Mini Hall, on the ground floor, of Hoylake Parade, with step free access from the carpark. There are disabled parking bays near the entrance - please check with me or a member of staff from the centre about using these once you arrive.
There is a large, free carpark at the centre, and also on road parking on the surrounding streets.
The class will run simultaneously on Zoom.
There will be continuity from week to week, although each class will work as a stand alone class.
There will be some degree of overlap from week to week, and if you miss a class, remember that I will send out the videos. Each class will also include some pranayama and a relaxation.
The class will run between 1400-1500, and you're welcome to go to Popsies for a cuppa after class.
If you know you won't be able to attend the full three weeks, it may be possible to join the remaining lessons if there is space. These tickets will be released once a block has started.
