Chain of Lakes ride with the Great Lakes Ski Riders is finally here! We will be launching at 9:00AM sharp out of the public state park boat ramp and going from there. There will be an opportunity to stop and get fuel and food as well. More details will be posted this week on how the rest of the ride will go. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
*Ride at your own risk. Ride responsibly: Never ride impaired.

*Cold water risks and advisory! None of these things guarantee your safety but they all help! When water is cold there are additional risks involved. Please read and if you ride with us, you are accepting these risks yourself and not holding us responsible in any way.
1. It is not advised to ride a PWC without a boarding ladder or any older ski that tips easily when the water temps are under 70.
2. Beginner riders should avoid cold water rides.
3. You must wear a wet suit. Once you fall in it's too late to put one on. At least have a neoprene jacket under everything to keep your core warm. have additional layers with you even if the air temperature is warm.
4. Are you capable of climbing back onto your ski? You really need to have practiced this when the water temps are warm. Then understand it's much more difficult when your body gets cold water shock. It you aren't certain you have the strength to pull your body out of the water riding in cold temperatures could be deadly and puts everyone at risk in the event that you fall in.
6. We highly recommend that have your phone GPS ON and share it with the group or at least 2 buddies on the ride, we have a free app we request everyone log in before the ride on the life 360 app so we can keep an eye out for anyone who gets separated, get the code from an admin before the ride begins and log in.
7. Make sure your phone is charged and bring a backup battery brick for longer rides if your ski doesn't have a charger.
7. If you leave early, Always let at least two people in the group, preferably a leader know.
8. Never ride alone.
9. It's a great idea to purchase a plan with a water tow company in your area. It's super affordable and one use will more than pay for itself.
10. Heavy coats and layers can take on water and actually make it more difficult to pull yourself out of the water. make sure to wear neoprene layers instead for lighter weight options that actually aid in boyancy.
