Chad Lawson & Priya Singh-Kaushal

Sparse, unhurried piano where silence carries as much as the notes.
Across two separate sets, immerse yourself in an evening of original piano music by Chad Lawson and Priya Singh-Kaushal, where contemporary classical music meets stillness, reflection, and quiet beauty.
Chad Lawson is an American pianist and composer whose music has been heard more than a billion times worldwide. A Steinway Artist for Decca (Universal Music Group), he writes with remarkable restraint, allowing a handful of notes, a lingering silence, and the space around a phrase to carry the emotional weight. His music asks little of the listener beyond a willingness to slow down. Featuring works across his catalogue, he will perform pieces from breathe, Where We Are, and The Chopin Variations, his reworkings of Chopin.
Joining Lawson for the performance is Indian-Australian pianist and composer Priya Singh-Kaushal. Writing from Wurundjeri Country, her intimate neoclassical works explore wordless emotion and the quiet complexities of modern life. Opening the evening, she will perform a selection of unreleased original compositions for solo piano. Her own playing shares the register of the night, unhurried, understated, and richly atmospheric, making her a natural companion to Lawson's set.
