On the occasion of the 722nd annual Urs of Hazrat Amir Khusrau Dehlavi; beloved disciple of another illustrious Dilliwalla Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya; Khusrau, the mystic, historian & chronicler, a linguist, great musician, immortal poet, often referred to as the "father of qawwali," writer of riddles, the cherished Tuti-e-Hind (Parrot of India)!

In Sufi tradition, an Urs marks not mourning, but Union - the moment when the Lover meets the Divine Beloved! And few figures embody this eternal longing more beautifully than Amir Khusrau: the poet whose words still breathe, the musician whose melodies still echo the love for his Pir, Mehboob-e-Ilaahi, Khwaja Auliya who became the very soul of his being!

Nestled beside the shrine of his Pir, the dargah of Amir Khusrau is a living legacy of friendship, faith and music during this special time. The ancient lanes of Nizamuddin Basti come alive with devotion, as strains of Qawwalis, verses of longing, and stories of love and surrender fill the air. The poetry of Khusrau; playful, mystical, romantic, and deeply spiritual, continues to resonate across centuries, carried forward by generations of qawwals and devotees!

DBF, invites you to this blessed courtyard of Dargah-e-Nizamuddin to witness this annual celebration of Qawwalis; an unforgettable evening of remembrance, listening to timeless Khusrawi Kalaams, hearing tales of his extraordinary life, his literary genius, and his profound bond with Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya, a love so complete that history still sings of it!!!

HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Tales of the life and times of Hazrat Amir Khusrau, his genius as poet, musician, linguist, historian, and mystic, and about his deep, inseparable bond with his beloved master, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.

2. Enjoy soulful music inside the dargah precincts, where qawwals render special kalaams and qawwalis of Amir Khusrau, accompanied by the stirring sounds of harmonium, tabla, and dhol, creating an atmosphere of devotion and ecstasy.
