Detailed information about the workshop:
- Online sessions will be conducted during the first two weeks of December (3-13), with 4 to 5 sessions each week in the morning, lasting 3 hours per session (from 9:00 AM to 12:AM).
- In-person sessions will take place in the third week of December (16-20), with 4 to 5 full days at UEH Campus B (279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, District 10) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Key topics which will be covered in the workshop are:
(i) Introduction to CGE modeling principles,
(ii) Understanding the MANAGE-World Bank model structure,
(iii) Data handling and model calibration,
(iv) Policy scenario design and implementation,
(v) Results analysis and interpretation,
(vi) Application to climate change policy analysis.
Meet Our Expert Speaker:
Martin Christensen is a Senior Economist at the World Bank, working in the Jobs and Economic Growth department. Based in Washington, DC, Martin has been with the World Bank since 2022. He previously worked at the European Commission and the Danish Ministry of Finance. Martin has extensive experience and expertise in using macroeconomic models to assess the economic impact of policy reforms, growth policies, and climate change. He holds a master’s degree in International and Corporate Finance from the University of Durham, and a master’s degree in Economics and Public Administration from Roskilde University.
Workshop participants will be provided with a GAMS license for the duration of the workshop, comprehensive training materials, hands-on exercises and datasets from the World Bank, and of course, certificate of completion. They are also expected to fully participate in the workshop.
