CFA Society Toronto Announces 69th Annual Investment Dinner

CFA Society Toronto, the largest society of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholders in the world, is pleased to announce its 69th Annual Investment Dinner, taking place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre – North building. 

This year’s event, themed “From Innovation to Impact: Scaling Canadian Success on the World Stage,” will explore how Canada can translate its world-class ideas, technologies, and businesses into globally competitive Canadian companies, sustained productivity growth, and economic value that remains in the country. 

The event will feature a keynote conversation with Jim Balsillie, retired Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion (BlackBerry). Mr. Balsillie helped transform a Canadian technology company into a global leader and today is a prominent voice on the policies and economic assumptions shaping how Canada competes in the global economy. 

Moderated by The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Vice-Chair, Office of the CEO, CIBC, this exclusive keynote conversation will examine why intellectual property, data, artificial intelligence, and other intangible assets are increasingly central to economic growth and national competitiveness; why Canada has struggled to capture the full value of its innovation; and what governments, investors, and business leaders can do differently to support Canadian success on the world stage.
