Certified Optical Network Associate (CONA)

CONA (Certified Optical Network Associate) serves as a fundamental course in optical networking encompassing network infrastructure and transmission systems based on direct detection technology. Direct detection systems have the capability to provide high capacity reaching up to 1.6 Terabits per second within data center environments. Direct detection can also be used in data center interconnects at speeds of 100 or 400 Gigabits per second. Direct detection is employed in a variety of other applications including local area networks campus backbones fiber to the antennas 5G front haul point-to-point FTTH full fiber business connections as well as numerous transport and utility networks. Those who are CONA certified are then eligible to enroll in the more advanced Certified Optical Network Engineer (CONE) course. Who should attend? Practicing and prospective network planners project managers operation personnel and those interested in taking up the CONE course are encouraged to enroll. There is no specific prerequisite for enrolling in the CONA course.
