This session will cover how to recognize and respond to potential terrorist threats in your community. You'll learn to define terrorism, identify warning signs, and understand your critical role as a CERT volunteer when incidents occur.
Understanding terrorism awareness is a vital skill for CERT members — helping you support first responders and keep your community safer. This training provides the knowledge to recognize suspicious activity, report it effectively, and take meaningful preparedness steps at home, at work, and in your neighborhood.
Learning Objectives:
- Define terrorism and its impact on communities
- List the eight signs of terrorism and describe how to report suspicious activity
- Explain the role of a CERT volunteer during a terrorist incident
- Describe activities to prepare for a terrorist incident at home, at work, and in the community
This is a valuable opportunity to strengthen your emergency preparedness skills and deepen your understanding of how CERT fits into the broader public safety picture. Come ready to engage, ask questions, and connect with fellow members.
This refresher is for current CERT members only. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!
