Cero Viejo brings that early 2000's punk/reggae/ska/surf from Arizona feat two founding members of Authority Zero-Bill Marcks & Jeremy Wood
About this Event

Cero Viejo with 1967, Gearheart on Sunday, November 8 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, CA!

Bill Marcks was one of the original guitarists when Authority Zero started in 1994 at Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. Jeremy Wood joined on bass in the summer of 1995, and remarkably, Wood actually taught both Bill Marcks and Jerry Douglas how to play guitar. His musical theory background gave him a distinctive bass style with independent, fluid basslines that became a signature of Authority Zero's sound.

Together, they helped build Authority Zero from local Mesa shows to a major label deal with Lava/Atlantic Records in 2000. Their debut album "A Passage in Time" (2002) featured hits like "One More Minute" and "Over Seasons" with music videos on MTV and Fuse. The follow-up "Andiamó"(2004) showcased their politically charged side with tracks like "Revolution" and "A Thousand Years of War."

After years of relentless touring including Warped Tour and shows with Sum 41 and Everclear, Marcks left Authority Zero on December 30, 2008 to spend more time with family. Wood continued until March 5, 2013, when he also stepped down, citing the urge to explore his roots in the local music scene. The formation of Cero Viejo reunited these two founding members, allowing them to continue the musical chemistry they'd built over nearly two decades.
