What is a Cacao Ceremony?
Revered in ancient Mayan and Aztec traditions, 100% ceremonial-grade cacao is a sacred plant medicine used as a bridge to the divine. Minimally processed and prepared with mindful reverence, cacao contains mood-boosting compounds like theobromine and anandamide (the "bliss molecule"). It gently stimulates the cardiovascular system, quiets mental chatter, and invites a profound state of emotional openness and physical relaxation.
The Journey: What to Expect
- Setting the Sacred Space: We gather in a circle around a central altar to ground ourselves and step into sacred time.
- The Cacao Blessing & Intention Setting: We honor the origins of the plant, blessing our cups and infusing the elixir with our personal intentions—what we wish to invite in, and what we are ready to release.
- Mindful Imbibing: We slowly sip the warm, spiced elixir together, allowing its physical and energetic warmth to expand through our chests.
- Inner Journeying: You will be guided through heart-centered Guided Shamanic Journey, Rhythmic beats of the Shamanic Drum, Chants of the Ancient Mother Tongue and Light-Breathing to deepen your inner exploration.
- Integration & Closing: We conclude with optional group sharing, a collective expression of gratitude, and a grounding closing ritual.
How to Prepare:
- Eat Lightly: Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, or dairy for 2–3 hours before the ceremony for optimal absorption.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before and after the event.
- What to Wear: Wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for sitting and breathing with ease.
- What to Bring: A water bottle, a journal and pen, and an open heart. (Optional: A small crystal or personal item to place on the altar).
Note: If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking SSRI antidepressants, or have a serious heart condition, please inform us in advance so we can safely adjust your cacao dosage.
