Get inspired by the art in our galleries, then join artist Katie Kron to create 3D letter sculptures with clay!
In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll sculpt a word or name that’s special to you using simple handbuilding techniques like slab construction and score and slip. Once your clay letters are built, you’ll add personal touches with underglaze, carving, and small sculptural details.
By the end of class, you’ll have made your very own piece of clay word art to treasure!
No prior experience is required, and all supplies are provided. All finished artworks created during this class will be kiln- and glaze-fired. Museum staff will contact you when your final artwork is ready for pickup.
