About this Event

The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) is offering three distinct workshops for Veterans taught by professional artists and art educators open to participants of all experience levels and abilities. MAM’s art program is a vibrant hub where artists come to share, explore, grow, and emerge transformed. All art materials are included.

Ceramic Tile Making - You'll learn a variety of techniques for making clay tiles with patterns, textures, and personal imagery. Tiles may be flat, sculpted in relief, or anywhere in between. Through a thoughtful, unhurried process, you'll make a ceramic tile that reflects your individual ideas and artistic voice.

Other workshops in this series:

  • August 27th (Thursday). 1:30 - 4:00pm . Observe & Create Workshop - Let works of art spark your imagination. This program begins with an interactive gallery visit where you'll look closely at and discuss a work of art from the the museum's permanent collection or special exhibitions. Then, bring your own ideas to life in the studio by creating an art project inspired by the themes, materials, or stories you explored in the galleries.
  • September 12 (Saturday). 1:30-4:00pm. Exploring Printmaking. Program description to come soon.

Exit 12 Dance Workshops are also being offered. See all the available events as part of the VA NJHCS Arts Resilience Trail this September for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
