Ceramic Planter Workshop at Filipponi Ranch with Adriana Lemus!

Join us for a beginner clay workshop at Filipponi Ranch in San Luis Obispo! We will be making a Ceramic Planter! You will learn the basics of working with clay using the slab construction method and decorating by sculpting and texturing clay. Adriana Lemus from Night Owl Pottery will guide you through this two-hour intro to clay workshop, Filipponi Ranch will provide you with delicious wine to sip on!

The $80 fee includes white stoneware clay, all materials and tools to use during the workshop, glaze and firing, two hours of instruction by an experienced ceramic artist, AND a glass of wine! Once your planter is created, you will leave it with the instructor where she will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo to be fired, glazed (painted), and fired a second time. This process takes about 4-6 weeks. When complete, the planters will be brought back to Filipponi to be picked up.

Adriana Lemus was born and raised on the Central Coast and has been working with ceramics for 17 years. She studied art at UC Berkeley and has been running her own business for the past 7 years. Adriana creates functional and non-functional ceramic vessels that are made to connect with the soul. Adriana teaches private throwing lessons in her backyard studio, sells her work at local Makers Markets, online, and is currently working on commission work for restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes.

Nestled amongst rolling, oak-studded hills on the outskirts of San Luis Obispo, California, is a unique little winery: Filipponi Ranch. Today the goal at Filipponi Ranch is to make small lots of high quality wine. The grapes are harvested by hand from some of the finest vineyards located in San Luis Obispo and every bottle of wine is hand-crafted in the original dairy barn. Come by and visit us in our new tasting room which is in the original ranch house.
