Step into the studio and immerse yourself in a ceramic plate painting workshop inspired by the rich colours and layered beauty of a freshly cut dahlia bouquet. This session invites you to slow down, explore your creativity, and craft a piece that captures the essence of late summer in bloom.
Decorative plates are more than beautiful objects — they are lasting keepsakes. They can brighten a room, commemorate a season, or become a meaningful, handmade gift. During the workshop, you’ll select from a curated palette of seasonal hues and learn to design and paint your own bespoke plate using intermediate and advanced ceramic techniques.
You’ll receive full tuition and personalised guidance from ceramicist Katrina, who will support you at every stage — from developing your design to refining the finishing details. There will also be the opportunity to incorporate text or wording into your piece, with expert assistance to ensure a polished, professional result.
Once completed, your plate will be glazed and kiln-fired, ready for collection within three weeks — a timeless reminder of summer, created by you.
Good to know:
The venue has parking. Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.
There is disabled parking and ramps allowing access to all areas. There is a disabled toilet.
Staff will help anyone in need of assistance. Shop on site selling an enormous range of goods relating to crafting: dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, sewing machines and furniture.
There is a coffee shop on site called O for Coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at a 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in-house with gluten-free and vegan options.
