About Ceol Sa Cheo (pronounced KYOL-SUH-HYO)~
Blake Ritter and Alina Larson form the fiddle-pipe core duo of the band Ceol sa Cheo. The name means "Music in the Fog" in Irish Gaelic.
Blake & Alina often perform high-energy Irish dance music around the foggy Humboldt and San Francisco Bay Areas. You can frequently find them playing for céilí and set dances, and performing up and down the West Coast of Northern California. Blake is an All-Ireland Irish fiddle champion based in Eureka CA, and Alina is an uilleann piper and singer from Berkeley CA.
When listening to the driving rhythms and intricate textural soundscapes evoked by Ceol sa Cheo, you may find yourself transported to another place, another time, perhaps even to the Celtic Otherworld, Tír na nÓg!
