ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Zahid Salman - CEO & President, Greenshield Canada
Zahid Salman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of GreenShield, an integrated health and benefits organization serving over six million Canadians, and the first in Canada to be both a payer (offering health insurance, administering benefits, and paying claims) and a provider (offering mental health, Ph*rm*cy, telemedicine, and other health services). Uniquely structured as a not-for-profit social enterprise, GreenShield is passionate about championing better health for all.
Zahid has over 30 years of experience, including executive positions at various international firms. His position at GreenShield, for which he has been recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs, combines his extensive background in business management with his passion for people and social impact. Combining purpose and performance, GreenShield has consistently been recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Cultures under Zahid’s leadership.
Zahid is an actuary who has earned Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designations. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and has obtained his ICD.D designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors
He currently serves on the boards of Green Shield Canada and Green Shield Association, the Product Standing Committee of the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) and is a member of HealthCareCAN’s Health Innovation Advisory Committee. He has also served in leadership roles on a number of not-for-profit boards including the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region, the York Region Children’s Aid Society, and the Saint Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation.
Rola Dagher - Ex-President & CEO, Cisco Canada
Leadership is not simply a role that you fill; it is an action that you take each day. It is this philosophy that guides Rola Dagher. Over her career of more than two decades, Dagher has worked with some of the brightest minds in the technology industry while honing her natural leadership style.
Dagher returned to Dell Technologies in 2020 - 2023, after leading as President and CEO of Cisco Canada for three years. Prior to this, she held various sales leadership roles at Dell and Bell Canada. Her impact on the Channel business has been recognized Globally with her being named one of the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs of 2022-23 by CRN and a 2022-23 Channel Influencer. She has also been included in CRN’s 2023 Women of the Year,Top 100 Execs, Power 100, Inclusive Leaders, and Women of the Channel. While Dagher is a proven sales and channel champion, she will be the first to say that her success is a direct reflection of the dedication and drive of the entire organization.
Dagher believes in diversity of thought and has made it her mission to empower, support and foster diverse talent. Her commitment to empowering women is shown through her recognition as one of the 2020 Top 25 Women of Influence™ by WXN, as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100™, and by Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) as the 2019 Woman of the Year. She was named the 2021 Executive of the Year by LebNet and was selected as one of RBC’s Top 25 Canadian Immigrant winners for 2019. Dagher was named the “Lady of the Cedar” by the Lebanese Embassy and received a 2018 Leadership Award from the Lebanese Chamber Business of Commerce.
Dagher’s perseverance and triumph through remarkable life experiences has earned her 4 Honorary Doctorate Degrees (LL.D.) from McMaster University, University of Waterloo, Toronto Metropolitan University and Wilfrid Laurier University, respectively. In addition, she is a recipient of the illustrious International Horatio Alger Award and appointed to the Order of Canada in 2023.
Dagher is a co-founder of the BlackNorth Initiative and an active member of the 30% Club advisory board, where she supports Catalyst’s work to accelerate progress for women in the workplace. A champion of overall health and wellness, Dagher sits on the board of trustees for SickKids Hospital. She is a member of the Horatio Alger Association of Canada board of directors and serves on the University of Waterloo Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC).
Yet, through all of her accomplishments, Dagher firmly believes that no one achieves greatness in a silo. She believes that you have to “learn it, earn it, and return it,” and this process is one that she continues to work through at every stage of her career.
Jahanzaib Ansari - Co-Founder & CEO, Knockri
Jahanzaib Ansari co-founded Knockri after experiencing hiring bias due to his long ethnic name. The AI-powered behavioural assessment platform helps organizations like IBM and DND reduce systemic bias and increase workforce diversity. Ansari has served on the World Economic Forum’s global council on Equality and Inclusion and is currently a member of the Business Council of Canada.
Jahan Ali - Founder & CEO of mobileLIVE & HachiAI
Jahan Ali is a visionary futurist and multi-award-winning serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. He is the founder and CEO of mobileLIVE, a leading technology company with nearly 400 employees, providing a full range of services from experience design and software development to AI and cloud modernization. Under his leadership, mobileLIVE has successfully delivered over 2,000 enterprise-grade projects for Canada’s most iconic brands across industries like telecommunications, banking, and retail.
In addition to mobileLIVE, Jahan founded HachiAI, a cutting-edge company revolutionizing the future of work through AI-driven digital workforce solutions. Recognized as MAX Business Leader of the Year and a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award, Jahan’s leadership and entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire others.
