The Verde Valley Archaeology Center and Museum is hosting the first ever Central Arizona History and Heritage Symposium. The purpose of the symposium is to gather people and community interested in the archaeology and history of this region, and together share information about past and current archaeological work in this portion of the state. The symposium starts Friday evening with check-in and a reception at VVAC. All-day presentations and a Tribal panel session will be held on Saturday, March the 28th at the Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts in Camp Verde.
Abstract posters will be on display during the complimentary lunch at VVAC and will remain up through the evening reception. Sunday, March the 29th will feature a mini-job fair with archaeological firms at VVAC, as well as tours of various heritage sites of interest.
The symposium is open to all for researchers, students, advocates, and Indigenous and other community members to gather together in an informal setting to share and learn about the richness of material history in the greater Verde River Watershed region.
Please visit the symposium's website link for further information and to register. Registration is free but required to attend: centralazheritage.org/
