UMS Regents Lecture by Professor Mortimer Newlin Stead Sellers, Regents Professor of the University System of Maryland, on
"The Necessity of International Law"
This celebration and lecture take place at a time when international law is in peril, facing challenges from geopolitical tensions, conflicts, and questions of enforcement.
Professor Sellers will discuss the nature, purpose, legitimacy, and enduring necessity of the international rule of law.
Following the lecture, we will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Center for International and Comparative Lawโthree decades of research, teaching, publication, and global engagement in the advancement of international and comparative law.
