Join us for the Cellar-To-Table Dinner Series at Tygart Lake State Park on March 15th, 2025, featuring the talented Chef Melissa Rebholz! 🍽️✨Chef Melissa Rebholz grew up in Buffalo, NY, and discovered her love for food at The Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, where she also managed 3 farmers markets in Manhattan with GrowNYC. Her passion for cooking and growing food took her on a 10-year journey working on organic farms across the country, from Sonoma’s wine country to Southern Appalachia.
In 2019, Melissa moved to Wheeling, WV, to open the kitchen at the Public Market for Grow Ohio Valley. By 2021, she launched Midge’s Kitchen, offering weekly meal pickups, catering services, and a seasonal hot dog cart. Melissa is deeply committed to using locally grown and produced ingredients and grows a large garden at home every year.
Here’s the delightful menu Chef Melissa has crafted for this special evening:
1️⃣ Breads and Pickles – Fresh Biscuits and Hush Puppies served with Pickled Vegetables and Root Vegetable Terrine (served charcuterie-style for the table)
2️⃣ Winter Chicory Salad with Tea Smoked Goat Cheese and Apple Butter Vinaigrette
3️⃣ Chicken Confit over French Lentils
4️⃣ Salted Honey Pie with Cornmeal Crust
Each course will also feature a Value Added Product from Mountain State Co-hop, celebrating the best of West Virginia’s local ingredients!
