Ed was an extraordinary visual artist, educator, advocate, and community leader whose life and work reflected a deep commitment to inclusion, creativity, and accessibility. Ed brought invaluable lived experience to every space he entered and dedicated his career to ensuring that people of all abilities had opportunities to create, learn, and belong.
Founder and longtime Director of Families Creating Together, Ed spent more than 40 years designing and creating inclusive arts experiences. He made it his mission to center children with disabilities and their families, creating opportunities for meaningful connection, self-expression, and belonging. Under his leadership, FCT workshops became a unique space where families could come together to share stories, celebrate experiences, and create art side by side. Throughout his distinguished career, Ed served as a Teaching Artist at the Henderson School, a Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital and the National Endowment for the Arts, and taught at Urban College of Boston. He held a Bachelor of Fine Arts from MassArt and a Master of Science in Education from the Wheelock Graduate School of Education.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers to consider a
donation to Families Creating Together in Ed’s name.
