Join the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs for an evening of celebration in support of the Columbia Arts Fund. The 2026 Celebration of the Arts fundraiser is Wednesday, Aug. 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in partnership with the State Historical Society of Missouri, hosted by Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and Dr. Lucas Buffaloe.
At this year’s event, we celebrate Columbia’s creative community by unveiling the annual commemorative poster (America 250 edition) featuring the artwork of local artist Lisa Franko. We will also pay tribute to an individual who has made significant contributions to the arts through their work with a City-funded nonprofit arts organization.
As an endowment, the Columbia Arts Fund provides financial support for our local arts organizations. Growing the Fund means more arts programs and events in the community, expanding access and appreciation, and cultivating Columbia's unique culture.
