From 2002 to 2012, Angie Condery served in the U.S. Army, beginning on Active Duty before transitioning to the National Guard, where much of her time was spent on active orders. As a Combat Medic, she deployed to Afghanistan in 2007, conducting medical evacuations and village medical operations. She also supported Operation Outreach with the Navy charity in country, helping local communities access medicine and medical devices, while teaching Combat Life Saver (CLS) courses to fellow soldiers. In 2008, she extended her service to deploy to Iraq, where she worked alongside Cavalry Scout units on missions along Route Tampa between FOB Talil and FOB Anaconda.Following her military career, Angie continued serving others in the private EMS field before stepping back due to a VA diagnosis of PTSD. She later transitioned to a quieter role working in a bookstore, where she remained until receiving a 100% Permanent and Total VA disability rating. During that time, she also used her G.l. Bill to earn a Master's degree in Public Health Administration.
Today, Angie remains deeply connected to her community. She volunteers with and plays for her local roller derby league, which has become both a source of therapy and an outlet for camaraderie. Through roller derby, she also engages in outreach and advocacy, partnering with local organizations to support marginalized groups and foster community connection.
This project will create a better quality of life for Angie and her family who struggle with home repairs and beautification.
