About this Event

As part of UCL200 and UCL Public Art, the Innovation Lab welcomes Neon artist and founder of Neon School, Andy Doig.

Join us as Andy will reveal the workings of this extraordinary medium in this special talk accompanied by a live demonstration of the underappreciated and increasingly rare skill of glass bending.

Andy will share the story of this fascinating artform, concluding with neon's emergence into the 21st century as an endangered craft of great cultural significance. From its origins in the early 20th century to its embrace by artists in the 1960s.
