HEY Y’ALL. Come help us celebrate the life of one awesome dude, Anthony “RJ” Wall on May 23 at the Greenbrier Picnic Pavilion in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The shelter has been reserved from 7:30 - 3:30 so get there early if you like and fellowship; but the official Celebration of Life II Event will begin promptly at 9:00 am. We will try to get started on our hike around 10:00 am. We will take a stroll on the Old Settlers trail stopping at some home places and sharing stories. There are some options that will depend on time and what the terrain looks like off trail. There is a home place that I have not been too off trail just past Little Bird Branch; but that will depend on time and what the terrain looks like. I know RJ would get a big grin if I found a home place I had not been to in his honor! Up to this point we will mostly be on trail which means that you can turn back at any point and return to the shelter. This is not my event - this is everyones event. I will be doing a couple things prior to the hike and I am sure that Keith will have something up his sleeve. We are honoring RJ; but we are also honoring all our friends who have moved on. So feel free to share stories of others as I certainly do not know everyone. As for food, I would love a volunteer to organize that part. Or just bring something or we can brown bag it! Please RSVP the event so we can get an idea of how many plan to attend. The permit limit is 70 and parking for 20. I have a feeling we may be tight so you might want to get here early!
