In Loving Memory of Pamela Robertson
April 16, 1973 – June 22, 2026
There are some people who quietly move through life, and then there are those who leave an imprint everywhere they go. Pamela Robertson was one of those people.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Pam on June 22, 2026, after an extraordinary two-and-a-half-year battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, on April 16, 1973, Pam moved to Vancouver as a toddler before settling on the Sunshine Coast at the age of two. Although she also lived in Vancouver and Powell River throughout her life, the Sunshine Coast was always home.
To know Pam was to know someone who lived life boldly. She had an incredible zest for life, a contagious laugh, a mischievous sense of humour, and a spark that could light up any room. She was fearless, spunky, fiercely independent, and never afraid to challenge the status quo. She questioned authority when she believed change was needed, stood up for what was right, and never worried about fitting into anyone else's expectations. She believed that one person with enough courage could make a difference.
And she did.
Pam built a remarkable career through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in a better future. She worked in construction, at the mill, and as a Construction Safety Officer before becoming a visionary entrepreneur. Through Robertson Safety Solutions, Sunshine Tiny Homes, and as President of Tiny Home Alliance Canada, she became one of Canada's leading voices for the tiny home movement.
Long before tiny homes became widely accepted, Pam was advocating for affordable, sustainable housing. She worked tirelessly with governments and municipalities to promote safe, code-compliant tiny homes and sensible regulations. She spoke on behalf of the tiny home community, received grants to advance the movement, and delivered the most-attended presentation at the Tiny Home Expo. Her dream extended beyond building tiny homes—she envisioned vibrant communities where people could live more simply, sustainably, and connected to one another.
Pam embraced challenges with enthusiasm. Whether taking on Tough Mudder, launching another ambitious project, being on an episode of "Still Standing", or tackling obstacles that others thought impossible, she met life head-on with grit, humour, and a determination that inspired everyone around her.
She was a visionary, a fearless advocate, a change maker, and one of the biggest cheerleaders you could ever meet. She celebrated the dreams of others as passionately as her own and encouraged people to believe they were capable of more than they imagined.
Among her greatest accomplishments was raising her two sons, Makye and Riley, of whom she was immensely proud. She was equally proud of the life she built through Sunshine Tiny Homes and treasured sharing that journey with her boys—building the company alongside Makye from the very beginning, with Riley joining in over the years.
When Pam was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, she faced it the same way she faced everything else—with extraordinary courage. Throughout two and a half years of treatments, setbacks, and unimaginable challenges, she remained steadfast in her faith, unwavering in her hope, and determined to live fully. She never lost her sense of humour and, even from her hospital bed, continued to make us laugh.
One of the greatest joys of her final months was the anticipation of becoming a grandmother. She lovingly called her first grandson her "baby avocado." Although she never had the opportunity to hold him in her arms, he was already deeply loved.
Pam was predeceased by her father, Gary Graham; her brother, Shawn Haime; her grandmother, Gwendolyn Robertson; her grandfather, Peter Robertson; her uncle Danny Robertson; her cousin Matthew McDonough; her beloved dog, Deoji; her cherished cat, Beans; and many other loved ones who welcomed her home.
She is lovingly survived by her mother, Janet Robertson; her sons, Makye and Riley Mackenzie; her siblings, Brody and Brittany Robertson; her nieces, Summer and Audrey Robertson; her precious grandson, her beloved "baby avocado"; her Aunties Susan, Lynn , and Debbie Graham, Judy Robertson, and Diane Taylor; her Uncle Chris Robertson; many cousins, extended family, and countless dear friends.
Pam's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the communities she helped shape, the dreams she inspired, and the family she loved so fiercely. She showed us that courage is choosing hope, that change begins with one determined person, and that a life lived authentically leaves the deepest imprint. We love you so much Pammy! You are forever in our hearts and forever in God's care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2026, at Camp Sunrise Chapel. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the service beginning shortly after 5:00 p.m. This is an alcohol-free gathering. Some food will be provided, and there will be a potluck—bring a dish if you wish!
For those who can not make it in person, it will be recorded.
