About Our Speaker:
Deborah Pellegrino is a graduate of the Academy of Culinary Arts, class of ’92. She began her career aboard a 204’ private motor yacht, traveling around the world for three years while cooking for a crew of 18, visiting more than 40 islands and countries. A highlight of her career was cooking for President Bill Clinton and international dignitaries during the first Summit of the Americas in Miami in 1994.
Deborah’s roots in Ocean City, NJ drew her back to land, where she gained valuable experience in casinos where she discovered both her passion for pastry and met her husband. Over the next 19 years, she worked as Executive Pastry Chef at Harrah’s Casino overseeing bake shops for four casinos and producing desserts for 47 restaurants. Deborah won the “Chocolate Myth’s Challenge” on the Food Network. She and her husband later opened a chocolate shop in AC called MADE. After three years, she took an opportunity to become the Executive Pastry Chef at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Within 8 months, she was promoted to Executive Director Chef overseeing 13 restaurants and becoming the first female to hold the title in a casino in the history of Atlantic City.
