About this Event
Join us at the St Thomas Centre in Ardwick, Manchester, on Tue 28 Apr 2026 to celebrate the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group’s (MUARG) 10-year anniversary! To celebrate ten years of MUARG’s collective research into making our cities and communities better for older people, we will be hosting a range of workshops for everyone to attend: older people, community groups, policymakers, third sector organisation members, researchers, and more. These workshops will focus on how meaningful co-production can be achieved and shaping the group’s future research agenda.
Across the day, you will be able to choose two workshops to attend from a mix of hands-on, creative methods sessions (zine-making, reflective poetry, creative arts, and more) and more discussion-focused workshops (film screening and discussion, design, urban regeneration, and more), so there will be something for everyone interested in improving the quality of life of older people in urban areas.
At the event, we are also excited to launch MUARG’s new collective publication: Collaborative Research for Ageing in Place: Stories of Co‑Production in Practice! The book is a collection of examples of researchers working together with communities in a variety of contexts and aims to promote learning and critical reflection on co-production methodologies.
Join us to celebrate and connect as we bring together all our partners from research, communities, policy, and practice!
There will be a lunch provided for all attendeees and a cake marking our 10 year anniversary to share as well!
