On April 30th, for our first International Jazz Month program, we’re taking you back to the root, with
- Short and fun documentary
- Live music
- Vinyl and Stories sessions
- And a journey through the DNA of the Blue Note.
If you want to understand today’s sound of Afro, traditional jazz and more, you have to hear origin sound.
Ever heard music by Fela Sowande? who is considered the "father of modern Nigerian art music,"? A pioneering jazz pianist and organist in the 1930s. How about trumpeter, composer and award-winning sounds of Hugh Masekela?
Wear your best Afro-urban /African inspired attire.
Join us for a night of listening, a sensory journey through black history viewing a short documentary and live music.
This International Jazz Month, let’s explore the architectural influence of West African Art Music on global culture.
