Hanover House may be over 300 years old, but this year it is celebrating its 30th anniversary of being located in the South Carolina Botanical Garden on the campus of Clemson University.
Thanks to a grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Department of Historic Properties is hosting a series of speakers and hands-on, family-friendly activities to celebrate the anniversary throughout the month of October.
Join us for our final weekend celebrating the profession of Historic Preservation today! Hear from a panel of historic preservationists working across South Carolina to preserve and promote the state's unique history.
Following our panel discussion, we will host a hands-on activity at Hanover House. Our “Preserve and Protect” activities are for all ages. Learn how to save pieces of history for the future. Participants will adorn their own mini house with features that they feel are important to preserve and add a note about what they want to protect for future generations.
