Sweetwater Creek officially opened its gates to the public 50 years ago on May 29, 1976 at 10 a.m. We have continued to proudly serve our visitors. Celebrate 50 years of Sweetwater in this 3 day long event. Each day will feature guest talks and recreational activities. Please Click Additional Event Details to see 3 day Schedule.Please note: Celebrations will be started at 10 am each day and run until 4. Each day will feature guest talks and recreational activities. Spaces are limited, first come first serve. There is no requirement to stay the full time, come for the events you'd like.
Day 1: Friday May 29- The 50th anniversary of Sweetwater Creek State Park opening its doors
10:00 am: Featured guest talks from Emily D Springer, author of Making A Park, Sweetwater Creek State Park a History of Land and People
