A 30th anniversary conference celebrating the growth of the field of religion and ecology since 10 conferences at Harvard from 1996-1998.
About this Event

This conference will celebrate 30 years of Religion and Ecology as a growing academic field and moral force in society. The academic field arose from 10 conferences on Religion and Ecology, organized by Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim from 1996-1999 at Harvard’s Center for the Study of World Religions, resulting in 10 volumes on the ecological dimensions of the world’s religions. The work of hundreds of engaged religion scholars and theologians has now spawned 30 graduate programs in North America. In addition, thousands of grassroots religious environmental programs have emerged to inspire transformative action for the well being of our common home. This conference will bring together a community of scholars, students, and practitioners to reflect on the growth of the field and how ecotheology, environmental ethics, and environmental justice are shaping its future directions.

See the for further background on this field.

The conference is free and open to all, but pre-registration is required.
