About this Event
Join us to celebrate Women’s History Month at Asilomar, a space originally created to empower women and build community! This year’s festivities include a keynote address by Dr. Kathryn Davis: "Fearless Curiosity: Reclaiming the Legacy of California's Women Scientists and Explorers". This talk highlights remarkable Northern California women in the 19th and mid-20th centuries who made groundbreaking contributions to science and geographic exploration. Celebrate how the brave women of the 1920s broke boundaries by learning vintage YWCA-era dances in free workshops (1920s period attire encouraged!) Take a guided tour of Asilomar’s Historic Core buildings designed by California’s first female architect, Julia Morgan.
