Celebrate Earth Day- Guided Forest Therapy Walk

This Earth Day , step away from the busyness of daily life and into the steady calm of the forest.

Join us for a guided Forest Therapy experience inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku — a gentle, sensory-based way of spending time in nature that supports rest, reflection, and reconnection. In honor of Earth Day, our theme will be reconnecting with your roots — exploring our connection to the land beneath our feet and the everyday foundations that ground us.

This is not a hike or a fitness event. There’s no distance to cover and nowhere to get to. We’ll move slowly and pause often. Through simple, guided nature-based invitations, you’ll be encouraged to engage your senses, notice the natural world around you, and reflect on what helps you feel steady and connected.

Many people find that this practice reduces stress, improves mood, and brings a sense of balance. Gathering on Earth Day offers a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the natural world — not by doing more, but by slowing down enough to notice it.

Our time together will include:

• A welcoming circle and brief Earth Day reflection
• Guided sensory invitations in nature
• Quiet time for personal wandering and observation
• Optional opportunities to share reflections
• A closing tea ceremony

Group size is intentionally limited to 10 people, and advance registration is required.

What to Expect

Forest therapy walks are not hikes . This will be a gentle slow paced walk where you will be invited to connect with nature using your senses through a series of invitations. The entire walk is typically 2 hours in duration and often covers no more than a 1/2 -1 mile distance. At the end I'll prepare a tea and snack for us to share. I'd like invite you to leave behind your phone, music, camera, and other distractions, and come into the present moment.

What to Bring

Dress a little warmer than the weather calls for and bring layers. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear for an easy trail walk. For your comfort you may wish to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, water. If you’d like you may also bring a camp chair that’s easy to carry or a sit upon /yoga mat for the ground. I will also have extra supplies to share.
