Celebrate Comfort 5K Fun Run/Walk and WATER!

Comfort faces the threat of an 1100 high-density home development, which will need more water taps than all of Comfort uses today. The permit requests dumping 600,000 gallons of effluent into local creeks and rivers daily. Comfort is in a Stage 4 Drought Emergency and lacks the necessary water resources.

Comfort Neighbors and the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance (GEAA) invite you to attend the Comfort Park Rally in support of preserving Comfort’s rural environment and, most importantly, our water resources.

The Rally will commence with a 5K Fun Run/Walk themed around WATER. Participants are encouraged to incorporate elements related to WATER into their attire. We've mapped out a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at the Comfort Park Rally. Whether you are an experienced runner or simply seeking a fun outdoor activity, this event promises to be enjoyable for all attendees.

Comfort Neighbors is a grassroots group organizing our unincorporated community to address this challenge. All proceeds from this event support these efforts through our fiscal sponsor, GEAA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Participants will engage in a healthy activity while supporting this initiative in rural Texas Hill Country.

Important details:

• This is an untimed, Fun Run/Walk. All levels of walkers, runners and joggers are welcome.
• This is an open course, meaning roads will NOT be closed. You are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and regulations.
• We created the route to start and end at the Comfort Park Rally and to highlight the town of Comfort and surrounding neighborhood. The course will be marked to help you know where to go.
• This event is rain or shine! If conditions become unsafe to run, we will still hang out at Comfort Park Rally and Celebrate Comfort. No refunds.
• There will not be a bag check; please plan accordingly and dress appropriately for the weather.
• Dogs and strollers are welcome on the course, with care and caution. Please remember - you are running at your own risk on town streets, which might not be suitable for all pets and youngsters. Please make the best decision for your family/group.
