Ceilidhs at the BIS 2026 - Tip 'er Back with guests singer Darlene Bradley & fiddler Allison Giggey
The group plays a mix of maritime favourites, traditional Gaelic, country, and also some original music. Betts, Currie and Murray were members of Kickin’ Country, the popular dance band that played at many dance halls on P.E.I.
Allan Betts is a singer, songwriter. Who has penned several songs including the song “and I Owe Life to You”, sung by many musicians, including PEI’s own Dino Dunsford. Clive Currie yodels and he is very good at it. We hope to convince him to give us a tune with yodeling in it during the evening. Wade Murray plays Bass and Darlene Bradley complements the singing.
Allison Ling Giggey has been entertaining crowds across P.E.I., Canada, and the U.K. for almost 20 years, including spending eight summers as a musician at Avonlea Village in Cavendish. Her 2003 recording 'Wake the Affections' with vocalist Maria McDougall was nominated for a P.E.I. Music award. Allison is a frequent visitor to the stage at the BIS.
Grace Sulis-Chaisson recently won the 2024 PEI Youth Talent Search Provincial Finals at the Summerside Lobster Carnival, so we know first hand how incredibly talented she is. Lilliana Bradley will be dancing along with Grace during the show and she is a fabulous dancer as well.
There will be a 50/50 draw and complimentary ‘lunch’ at intermission. The Hall is air-conditioned and licensed. Our elevator is currently out of service. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Tickets at the door - $20 or $5 (12 and under). A portion of the proceeds will go to benefiting the society’s benevolent activities.
Everyone is welcome to come out for a night of wonderful music. For more information call Clare at 902-213-4578. This popular group draws the crowds so arrive early to make sure you get a seat.
