Join Us for the Starkhafn Ceilidh 2026! 🌿
Site Hours: Opens at 10:00 AM; Closes at 4:00PM. Event set-up begins at 9:00 AM. Site must be vacated by 4:00 PM.
Event Overview: Come visit the Barony of Starkhafn as we gather in the cooler mountains surrounding our fair city for a Triple-A Ceilidh event featuring Archery, Axes, and Arts! This indoor/outdoor celebration offers opportunities to shoot, throw, sing, and play games at a charming, rustic site just outside the Las Vegas Valley.
Outdoor Activities (early in the day):
● Baronial Thrown Weapons Championship
● Baronial Archery Championship for adults and youth
● Youth & Adult Simulated Axe Throwing
Indoor/ Clubhouse Activities (air-conditioned!):
● Baronial Chess Championship
● Mini classes on “How to Bard” and casual bardic performances
● Period Board Games
● Silent Auction Fundraiser for Arts & Sciences fund
Lunch & Hospitality: Lunch is a populace potluck. The Barony will provide water and paper goods. Participants are encouraged to bring crockpot dishes, beverages, desserts, and cold side dishes to share. Feast gear is strongly encouraged, but paper goods will be available.
Power outlets are available for crock pots. Please bring ice to keep perishable foods cold.
Event Registration Fees: Pay at the gate – cash or check only. Please make checks payable to: SCA Inc./Barony of Starkhafn
● Adult Event Registration: $15.00
● Non-Member Event Registration: $25.00
● Children under 14: $5.00
● Family Cap for Children: $15.00 maximum for multiple children from the same household
🚫 Site Restrictions:
● This is a dry site – No alcohol permitted.
● No swordplay is allowed on site, but archery, throwing knives, and axes are permitted.
● Limited parking available – carpooling is strongly encouraged. Once the lot fills, overflow parking is along the main road, with a short walk up a dirt road to the clubhouse.
● Outdoor spaces will include misting fans and shade structures to help keep everyone cool.
● Flush toilets, a kitchen, and a playground are available on site. Site is accessible but includes uneven terrain.

10:30 AM – Opening Court
11:00 AM -2:00 PM Thrown Weapons and Archery Competitions, Arts Activities in the Clubhouse
12:30 PM – Lunch
1:00 PM – Chess Championship, A&S Silent Auction closes
2:00 PM – Court, Bardic, and Awards
3:30 PM – Cleanup, claim auction wins
4:00 PM – Site closes

🧭 Directions to the Site:
From the North (Las Vegas Valley):
Take I-15 S to Exit 33 for NV-160 (Blue Diamond Rd toward Pahrump). Continue for 20 miles. Turn left onto Forrest Rd 989, follow approx. 1/4 mile to the site.
From the Northwest/North (NLV, Artemisia, etc.):
Take US-95 S or I-215 W to Exit 26 (W Charleston Blvd/NV-159 W). Take NV-159 W for 15 miles. Turn right onto Avery St, then right onto NV-160 W. After 8.8 miles, turn left onto Forrest Rd 989. Site is 1/4 mile ahead.
From the East (Atenveldt/Boulder City):
Take I-11 toward Henderson/Las Vegas. Exit 23 to I-215 W, then Exit 12B for I-15 toward LA. Follow signs for NV-160 W/Blue Diamond Rd. Go 20 miles. Turn left onto Forrest Rd 989 and follow to the site.
From the West (Caid):
Take I-15 N toward Las Vegas. Exit 33 for NV-160 W/Blue Diamond Road. Go 20 miles. Turn left onto Forrest Rd 989 and follow to the site.
