Cartersville Area Writers Announces Fourth Annual CAW Writers Conference
Cartersville Area Writers (CAW) is pleased to announce its fourth annual CAW Writers Conference, taking place Saturday, March 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W. Main Street in downtown Cartersville.
The conference offers an inspiring, full-day experience for writers of all levels to learn from accomplished authors, connect with industry professionals, and build a meaningful creative community. This year’s keynote speaker is award-winning author Kimberly Brock, who will share her journey from emerging writer to bestselling novelist and reflect on the resilience required to sustain a writing life. Brock is the author of three novels, including 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩, which earned the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2013.
“CAW has grown steadily since our founding in 2022, and this conference has become a highlight of our year,” says CAW President Tammy Barron. “It brings artists together, sparks inspiration, and creates lasting relationships within our local literary community.”
Additional programming includes an opening presentation by artist and poet Rosemary Royston on incorporating poetic elements into prose, followed by an interactive afternoon workshop led by authors Mickey Dubrow and Jessica Handler, where attendees will explore revision techniques using 5–10 pages of their own work. The day concludes with a presentation by licensed therapist Jessica Schmoll on imposter syndrome and overcoming creative self-doubt.
Conference highlights also include a silent auction featuring donations from local businesses, author tables, and book sales hosted by The Crazy Book Lady of Acworth. Coffee and a catered lunch by Southern Comforts Catering are included with registration.
