Join the Ko'asek of Turtle Island for a hands-on cattail weaving workshop celebrating the rich traditions of Abenaki culture. Held at their cultural center in Claremont, this immersive experience will be led by Marty Castriotta—a farmer, educator, and ecosystem designer dedicated to building resilient communities through regenerative practices.
Throughout the workshop, Marty will guide participants in exploring cattails as a versatile and sustainable local fiber. Historically used to craft mats for wigwams, cordage, and even dolls, cattails offer a fascinating glimpse into Indigenous ingenuity and ecological harmony.
Come weave, learn, and connect as we honor ancestral knowledge and the enduring relationship between people and the land.
