The Friends of the Mt. Pleasant Library are excited to welcome Queens University Professor Emerita and author Cathy Pickens. Welcome to a guide on taking the first steps in your creative project.
* Do you feel the pull to write, but you’re not sure what you want to say?
* Are you bogged down in a project?
* Do you have too many projects and can’t choose where to begin?
You’re not alone. We all get hung up on those bumps in the creative road. Are you ready to find your way over them and move ahead?
This workshop is just what it says: a starting point for your writing project.
We’ll explore six steps on your writing adventure, each helping you explore your own process. By the end, you should have a roadmap to continue the project you’ve been longing to write.
The Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival: Chapter 2: The Story Unfolds is a three day celebration of books, authors, and the literary arts, coming to the Mt. Pleasant Library on March 19-21, 2026.
